Zombie Invasion
Yikes, between work meetings and the trip to the podiatrist's office, I completely missed the news of the Zombie Invasion!!! I guess we are VERY lucky to live this far West of Washington, D.C. So far, we've not heard news of any zombies any farther than central Arlington (and they seem to have been pushed back from Ballston and the Arlington Court House by heroic efforts of Buffy and Angel TV show fans).
Sad about the Pentagon, really - I had several friends there; but apparently the zombies have taken over and efforts to dislodge them from their beach-head into Virginia have thus far been completely unsuccessful.

sutragirl is already on the train returning from New York City, and that means Union Station for her. I've advised her to get off the train in Baltimore and seek safe haven there until D.C. is safe. No news from Union Station, but that could mean the zombies are in control there.
Arming the car with holy water balloons (they work against zombies, right???) and full tanks of gas and a freshly charged battery. I'll be making a run into Falls Church soon to evacuate as many dancers as I can fit in the car. So far the Nextel walkie-talkie feature has not been interrupted like most cell phones, and the FRS radios are working fine.
